Happy birthday to The Daily Nebraskan! Whether you called it the DN or the Rag, our student newspaper launched the careers of some incredibly successful alums. Share your memories, read the first issue, give to the Editorial Support Fund or pick up some swag to celebrate The Daily Nebraskan’s 122nd birthday. The first issue of The Daily Nebraskan was published on June 13, 1901, but its predecessor, the Monthly Hesperian Student, was founded in 1871! The managing editor of the Hesperian in 1893 was none other than Willa Cather whose sculpture joined Ponca Chief Standing Bear in the Capitol’s Statuary Hall early this month.
