Wick Event Center Rental

The Wick Alumni Center features contemporary design and beautiful architecture. Mahogany paneling, three-story-high cathedral ceilings, dramatic staircases and magnificent, oversized windows combine to make the Wick one of the most unique and memorable venues in the city. Other things we offer for your event include:

  • Your choice of five outstanding local caterers with experienced service staff
  • A great hall and four additional rooms from which to choose. You may combine spaces to accommodate large groups or events that require multiple rooms.
  • Extras like audio/visual equipment and support, standard centerpieces, a dance floor and an event manager on-site included in your room rental.

Room Descriptions

The Wick Alumni Center offers six distinctive spaces, which allow us to be flexible and creative in filling your needs.

Pascale Great Hall

The main banquet room of the Wick Alumni Center features a stunning three-story-high cathedral ceiling, mahogany paneling, a projection screen, sound system and plenty of natural lighting. It has seating for 180 people at banquet events (200 combined with the adjacent Dana Room) and up to 300 people when set for classroom seating or cocktail receptions.

Dana Board Room

Adjacent to the Pascale Great Hall, the two-story-high room features mahogany paneling, a 17-foot high-definition projector and screen, sound system, a/v inputs and more. Its size makes it perfect for a small reception, corporate retreats, cocktail hours and more.  As noted above, a moveable wall connects it to the Great Hall.

Steinhart Conference Room   

Located on the second floor of the Wick Alumni Center, the Steinhart Conference Room contains high-definition projection and presentation abilities, whiteboards, a tack board wall and a conference table capable of seating 20 people.

Holling Garden

The newly renovated Holling Garden sits adjacent to the Wick Alumni Center and is perfect for outdoor events either separate or in conjunction with other events at the center. The garden features the Foehlinger Memorial Fountain, the Life Endowment Wall, Vermont slate walls and the original University Hall bell, the oldest artifact on campus. The setting is perfect for pre-game parties, wedding ceremonies, outdoor banquets, pre-nuptial dinners or any outdoor event of up to 450 attendees.

Alpha Tau Omega Conference Room

The ATO Room overlooks both the Great Hall and the Wick Center's grand atrium and features meeting facilities for 12 people. The room contains marker boards and a small screen, perfect for a portable projector, which is available from our facility staff.

Seacrest Library

The Seacrest Library is located off the lobby of the Wick Alumni Center and features both formal and informal seating arrangements. The room is also a perfect staging or VIP area for larger events in the Pascale Great Hall. The library collection contains books written by Nebraska alumni, Cornhusker Yearbooks, bound volumes of the Nebraska alumni magazine, and other scrapbooks and memorabilia collected from Nebraska alumni over the years.

All-inclusive

With your room rental, you'll also receive audio/visual equipment and support, standard centerpieces, a dance floor and an event manager on-site. With minimum food purchases, standard linens and china are provided by the caterer at no additional charge.
