John Sweeney (BS 1995, MAT 2013) and Paige Lindstedt-Sweeney (BSN 1995) adopted Kaysen Conrad Lindstedt-Sweeney (19 months old) on April 14, 2017 and his brother Colton John Lindstedt-Sweeney (8 months old) on May 16, 2017. They join sister Johanna Sweeney at home.
Bryan Siebler recently earned his 3rd degree in May, 2017, a Career Certificate from Metropolitan Community College in Omaha in Object Oriented Programming. He previously earned an Associates in Applied Science degree in AS400 Computer Programming from Metro in August, 2004. Bryan is an August, 1987 graduate of UNL where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics and Statistics. Bryan is currently employed at NCR Corp. as a Software Engineer in Omaha.

For the past two years, William H. McCartney, B.S.B.Adm. 1973, has been co-chairing a Bipartisan Policy Center task force studying current issues in the regulation of insurance. He and co-chair Dr. Robert Litan authored a report, "Improving U.S. Insurance Regulation," which was published by the BPC and released in April.
Recently began working as the Travel Coordinator for the upcoming "X-Men: The New Mutants" film for Fox. Production begins this summer in Boston and the film is scheduled for release April 2018.

After 17 years, Kevin Smith '74 BS Arch, '76 MArch, has retired from his position as Associate Design Manager and Campus Architect for Syracuse University. While in college and upon graduation, Kevin worked for Thomas Bachtold & Associates in Lincoln, then returned to his hometown of Syracuse, NY. Prior to joining the Office of Campus Planning, Design, and Construction at Syracuse University, Kevin worked for Sargent, Webster, Crenshaw & Folley, then Teitsch-Kent Architects in Cazenovia, NY. Kevin will enjoy his retirement in Syracuse.

Dr. Lance Nielsen will be inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Association Hall of Fame on November 17, 2016. He has taught music for 26 years in Kimball, Norris, and Lincoln Public Schools. He also taught at Doane University before being appointed as Supervisor of Music for Lincoln Public Schools. He served as President of the Nebraska Music Educators Association and President of the North Central Division of National Association for Music Education.
Dr. Nielsen graduated from UNL with his Bachelors in 1991, Masters in 1998, and PhD in 2011.
