Connor Ferguson, PhD (M.S. Agronomy: Weed Science, 2013) joined the faculty at Mississippi State University (Starkville, MS) as an Assistant Professor of Weed Science in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences on July 1st. Ferguson spent the last year on faculty at Northwest Missouri State University in their School of Agricultural Sciences.

For the past two years, William H. McCartney, B.S.B.Adm. 1973, has been co-chairing a Bipartisan Policy Center task force studying current issues in the regulation of insurance. He and co-chair Dr. Robert Litan authored a report, "Improving U.S. Insurance Regulation," which was published by the BPC and released in April.
Recently began working as the Travel Coordinator for the upcoming "X-Men: The New Mutants" film for Fox. Production begins this summer in Boston and the film is scheduled for release April 2018.

After 17 years, Kevin Smith '74 BS Arch, '76 MArch, has retired from his position as Associate Design Manager and Campus Architect for Syracuse University. While in college and upon graduation, Kevin worked for Thomas Bachtold & Associates in Lincoln, then returned to his hometown of Syracuse, NY. Prior to joining the Office of Campus Planning, Design, and Construction at Syracuse University, Kevin worked for Sargent, Webster, Crenshaw & Folley, then Teitsch-Kent Architects in Cazenovia, NY. Kevin will enjoy his retirement in Syracuse.

Dr. Lance Nielsen will be inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Association Hall of Fame on November 17, 2016. He has taught music for 26 years in Kimball, Norris, and Lincoln Public Schools. He also taught at Doane University before being appointed as Supervisor of Music for Lincoln Public Schools. He served as President of the Nebraska Music Educators Association and President of the North Central Division of National Association for Music Education.
Dr. Nielsen graduated from UNL with his Bachelors in 1991, Masters in 1998, and PhD in 2011.

Steve Ahlers retired from John Deere as a Business Unit Manager after more than 38 years of service. He and his wife Patti will continue to reside in Bettendorf, IA, where they will be close to their 3 children and 7 grandchildren. Golf, traveling, and family time will be primary hobbies in retirement.

Lisbeth is a Digital and Technology Executive, companies include Match.com, PepsiCo FritoLay, American Airlines, AT&T, and entrepreneurial ventures. She lives in San Francisco, CA. Lisbeth gives time to UNL CBA with the Entrepreneurship Board.
